I Didn’t Hate It #4

I feel like a new person after that hiatus. I have transcended into a being that can pump out, on average, 1,000 words per hour. I have also had the hardest, strangest time lately and I am eternally grateful for all the support in the last week.

Recently, I read 2K to 10K: Writing Faster, Writing Better, and Writing More of What You Love on my way to see some friends and it has really changed the way I’ve approached writing since hiatus. I now start off every session with a kind of to-do list of scenes, quotes, and moments that need to appear. It’s kept me so organized and I’ve consistently hit 1,000 words per hour on average. Crazy how much better process goes when you approach it with a plan.

Here is a list of things I put on a word document that I didn’t hate:

  • A kissing scene between two thieves, where one is much better at passing as a common man
  • Tackling an emotionally taxing sequence
  • Establishing culture and politics of the vale oh so casually

Favorite Line Written: Knees were expensive.

Song of the Week:Disconnected” by Shy Child from Liquid Love (2010)

Actively Reading: Want by Cindy Pon
