Week one of editing is off to a start. I’m three chapters in and the story still holds up. I was worried I would start that spiral of loathing my own work, but not so.
Editing is a funny thing. I’ve been sending it to both my CP and my first beta reader. Even without their comments, I already see bits in my head that can use improving. There’s also a downside with to-do list writing: The content comes out so quickly, I’m hardly sure what happened in the finale. Luckily, at the rate I’m going, I’ll revisit it within the next two weeks.
Here is a list of things I put on a word document that I didn’t hate:
- The edit of Thieves Project Chapters 2 and 3 hold up
- A revised query letter
- An email requesting advice in exchange for coffee
Favorite Line Written: I had just met my brother and I was already putting him in danger.
Song of the Week: “End of the Unknown” by Keiichi Okabe, Keigo Hoashi, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Emi Evans, J’Nique Nicole from NieR: AUTOMATA OST (2017).
Actively Reading: ARC of The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
