Week two of work, still got zero writing done this year and the feedback is rolling in. I am hype.
Literally, I feel like I’ve grown as a writerly human that I’m getting feedback and half my reactions fall in two camps:
- “Fair” (as in, there’s a thing I know I’m weak in so thank you for point it out)
- “Oh dear the gods, here is a new problem that…well, here’s a new word doc. It’s fine, it’s all fine.”
And I appreciate the politeness around my feedback. Mostly because I expect all the things that I think about my work to come through. I recognize it’s a toxic mindset, but it’s really hard to stop. So, it’s nice to have some cheerleaders who really want the work to be good.
I also ate my weight in sushi this week, so it’s been a win of a time.
