Content warning: Home invasion
Flora is a painter who inherits a mansion. The mansion comes with a spooky cryptid named Creepy Cat. This series follows the adventures of Flora and her kitty as she works around his ludicrous corporeal form and the humans in her orbit try to figure out what is up with the house.
There’s not much to speak of in terms of plot here. It’s little vignettes from Flora’s every day life, trying to take care of a cat that is sometimes one being, sometimes several. A local man named Oscar is also curious, but also completely infatuated with Flora (I don’t think she’s aware though).
In short, an utter delight with meme-worthy faces on the kitty himself.
Volume 2 introduces a whole new cast of characters and cats. There’s the local man trying to win Flora’s affections plus two paranormal investigators getting to the bottom of the ghostly presence in the mansion. All while Flora is trying to make a living sell her paintings.
Plus, some of the kitties from Volume 1 return as characters. Seeing the ghostly cat antics coupled with the charming obliviousness of the humans around them make for a delightful time. I think my favorite gag is Flora not being scared by the house’s actual ghosts because she attributes the mischief to Creepy Cat. It’s such a good joke.
We also get to meet some of Flora’s friends and the idea that there are other Creepy pets made me squeal in cuteness. The ensemble is really coming together, and I can’t wait to see what other hijinks are abound in this series perfect for folks who celebrate Halloween all year long.
