Q&A with Jeffe Kennedy (The Orchid Throne Blog Tour)

AuthortoAuthor_JeffeKennedy.pngThank you St Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read an early copy of The Orchid Throne (2019). The latest fantasy romance by Jeffe Kennedy features some lush world-building, political intrigue, and two thorny protagonists who start off as adversaries and end up as lovers. There’s a very crappy emperor and two different ideas of how to take him down.

Read on below for an interview with Jeffe about how the inspirations behind the political conflict in The Orchid Throne, her favorite scenes, and what to read next.

Q&A with Krista and Becca Ritchie (The Last Hope Blog Tour)

AuthortoAuthor_RitchieI received an eARC of The Last Hope (2019) from Wednesday Books. This sequel and thrilling conclusion goes off Saltare as our soul-linked heroes, Mykal, Court, and Franny, are trapped on a ship. I can’t reveal too much because everything would be spoiler territory, but there’s a shady new guy named Stork, and conspiracy after conspiracy. The ending just fits the path laid ahead. Trust me, friends, it’s a good one!

Read on below for an interview with Krista and Becca about how they brought The Last Hope to its epic conclusion.

Author to Author with Christopher Ruz (#TheRaggedBlade)

AtoA_Ruz.png

Friends who write good books are a treasure. The Ragged Blade by Christopher Ruz follows the adventure of Richard and his daughter across a desert while they run away from Richard’s ex, the Magician. This book hit all my Berserk buttons and made for a captivating read. On his release date (June 4th), Christopher took some time to answer questions around writing relationships, writing dual timeliness, and what kind of bad deadline not to set.

Q&A with Krista and Becca Ritchie (The Raging Ones Blog Tour)

AuthortoAuthor_Ritchie.pngI received an eARC of The Raging Ones (2018) from Wednesday Books. Because life got in the way, I haven’t finished it yet, but so far, I am enjoying this one. The Ritchie twins tell the story of a frozen planet where everyone who lives knows when they’ll day. Three teens have avoided this death day and are trying to get on a ticket to a Distant Star to escape the consequences. I really like these teens’ spiritual bond and dynamic. Read on below for an interview with Krista and Becca about how they brought The Raging Ones to the page.

Review: FROM THE EARTH TO THE SHADOWS (Blog Tour)

FromtheEarthtotheShadows

From the Earth to the Shadows (2018) is the second part to this urban fantasy starring Malin, a Valkyrie assigned to send immortals to Kurnugia when their time is up. Things haven’t been as they appear for quite some time. Picking up right where Between the Blade and the Heart (2018), left off, Malin and her friends are trying to find the answers to questions left unanswered in the wake of the murder of Malin’s mother, Marlowe, a fellow Valkyrie. A stacked sequel, there are battle scenes, tender moments, and questioned loyalties galore as the world itself hangs in a balance (4 stars out of 5). Thank you Wednesday Books for the eARC. Q&A with L. Penelope (Song of Blood & Stone Blog Tour)

AtoA_LPenelope.pngI received an eARC of Song of Blood & Stone (2018) from St, Martin’s Press and this swoony historical fantasy is a treat. The first in the Earthsinger Chronicles, we follow Jack and Jasminda as they race against magic, two powerful rulers, and their roles in society to save the world from war and an ancient evil. I really enjoyed the romance between the two main characters but also loved the fully-realized world and the very real tension between Lagrimar and Elsira. Read more for an interview with Leslye Penelope about bringing the Earthsinger Chronicles to life and some of her favorite reads and sources of inspiration.
