Because I don’t believe in relaxing or free time, I took on a reading challenge inspired by “The 12 Days of Christmas” in which I wanted to read 12 books between December 25th and January 5th. I got pretty close to 12, reading nine.
At some peer pressure and falling into personal interest territory, I decided to watch Westworld. Based on the 1973 film of the same name by Michael Crichton, it’s another romp through a scary, ill-thought-out amusement park. It does for the Wild West what Game of Thrones did for medieval times: It’s not at all fun and there are no clear-cut heroes and villains.
At the beginning of every month, I’m doing a post on the things I’ve read the previous month. September was a whirlwind of moving and getting acquainted to the Midwest and learning about myself as a graduate student. That being said, having read four books is quite the accomplishment.
