February is the shortest month and wow did so many things happen. I quit my dayjob because I got an offer for another day job more aligned with where I want to be and the things I want to do. My boyfriend got (and accepted) into a PhD program. I managed to do a lot of manga reading and a fair amount of audiobooks. All in all, it was a fine month.

- Karin Tidbeck delighted us with some insight into the inspiration behind their latest, The Memory Theater
- Sarah Gailey shared their process of choosing a near-future sci-fi setting where The Echo Wife takes place
Instead of doing NaNoWriMo this year, I decided to plot out a book instead. It didn’t mean I didn’t have time for some excellent reads. This month featured such an assortment of genres and formats, I feel like my understanding of craft expanded in ways I didn’t expect.
Get ready for Part 2. I refrained from finishing two more audiobooks today because one, I had a headache, and two, had some work to do which required deep focus. Welcome to all the audiobooks I read in July. 
April was a quieter month. Though, in the middle, I did visit New York City to get some day job work done and took most of a needed break from writing. And because of a weird funk, it took me a while to read non-audiobooks. With May’s aggressive travel, maybe time for reading physical copies will be easier to come by.
